- In 2025, bank deposits in Cochise County (as of June 30) totaled $1.67 billion, up 1.3% from a year prior. That followed an increase of 2.9% in 2024 after declines of 5.0% and 3.9% in 2022 and 2023, respectively (on the heels of double-digit increases of 12.0% and 18.1% in 2020 and 2021, respectively, which were helped along by COVID stimulus programs in those years). Countywide bank deposits in 2025 were down 4.8% from their record high in 2021 (with records back to 1994; not adjusted for inflation).
- All areas of the county saw bank deposits increase in 2025 except Sierra Vista, the largest banking market area in Cochise County accounting for more than 65% of the countywide market, which saw deposits drop 0.5%. Bank deposits in Sierra Vista fell in 3 of 4 years from 2022 through 2025 after strong increases of 15.6% and 19.8%, respectively, in 2020 and 2021 (largely attributable to COVID stimulus programs). Sierra Vista bank deposits in 2025 were down 12.1% from their record high in 2021.
- The largest increase in bank deposits in 2025 was Fort Huachuca, the county’s smallest banking market accounting for about 4% of the countywide market, where deposits grew by 9.7%. That followed increases of 6.6%, 8.5%, 6.4%, 6.2%, and 8.6% in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024, respectively. Deposits were at a record high in 2025.
- The second biggest jump countywide in bank deposits from 2024 to 2025 was Willcox, which saw deposits grow by 6.1%. Bisbee saw the third-largest increase at 5.2%, followed by Douglas at 4.8% and Benson at 2.6%.
