Occupational employment & wages

  • Median wages in Cochise County reached $47,046 in 2025, increasing by +2.4% from 2024 and by +30.1% from 2019, which reflects an average annual gain of about +4.5% over the longer period. This indicates that while wages are still rising, the pace of growth has clearly slowed in the most recent year, suggesting a transition from rapid post-pandemic gains to more moderate increases.
  • Management occupations reported a median wage of $99,702 in 2025, rising by +4.1% from 2024 and by +10.4% from 2019, equal to about +1.7% annually. This slower growth relative to other groups suggests that higher-wage occupations have seen less upward pressure, possibly because they were already elevated earlier in the period.
  • Business and financial operations occupations reached $85,611, increasing by +5.4% from 2024 and by +12.9% from 2019, or about +2.0% annually. In contrast, computer and mathematical occupations rose to $105,352, up by +2.5% over the year and by +70.5% since 2019, or about +9.3% annually. This large gap highlights a continued structural shift, with technical occupations driving the strongest wage growth in the county.
  • Healthcare practitioners and technical occupations recorded a median wage of $78,701 in 2025, increasing by +1.1% from 2024 and by +46.8% from 2019, or about +6.6% annually. Construction and extraction occupations reached $47,939, rising by +0.4% over the year and by +60.1% since 2019, or about +8.1% annually. These trends suggest that essential and skilled trades have experienced sustained upward wage pressure, even as recent gains have slowed sharply.
  • Office and administrative support occupations had a median wage of $40,640 in 2025, increasing by +3.2% from 2024 and by +44.4% from 2019, or about +6.3% annually. Sales and related occupations reached $34,122, rising by +4.1% over the year and by +36.6% from 2019, or about +5.3% annually. The stronger long-term growth in these lower- and mid-wage groups points to broad-based wage compression, with gains at the lower end helping narrow wage gaps across occupations.
